We think this is the best battery operated salt and pepper set.  I bought 10 sets to give to friends at Christmas. I opened the packages and inserted the batteries for all my friends.  I decided it would be a lot easier for them.  It was a little difficult the first time. They are all delighted. I went to Costco to see if they were still selling them.   I will request Costco to reorder.  I plan on buying 4 more sets for more friends and family.
What I especially like is the pepper or salt flakes do not fall on the floor. They come out the top of the shaker.

We received this set as a gift. We were able to open one to insert the spice and batteries, but could not close it back up again even after checking battery insertion, no spice caught in hole, etc. The other one we could not open at all. This would be VERY difficult for elderly or small woman to set up.The description says chrome finish but it appears to be plastic with a shiny metallic finish. One plus is that the batteries are provided with the purchase.

Electric grinders January 7, 2013

Quick delivery.  I have different grinders from Trudeau and love them all.  The gravity electric grinders are excellent for when my hands or busy and I don't have to stop and put everything down. Great for my arthritic friends and raw food students.
